The Circle Trial is a collective endeavor of BHRI, Providence Health and the Institute for Systems Biology, approved by Western IRB and co-located at the Hoag Hospital in Irvine, California and in BHRI and ISB’s Seattle labs. This randomized clinical trial for more than 100 patients is focused on applying the BHRI Healing Brain Protocol, a multi-modal approach to brain health, in a rigorous scientific context, and studying the data generated by this intensely measured medical protocol. This process serves to refine in many ways the specific effectiveness of that Protocol.

BHRI and ISB, with Providence Health and other global science partners, are preparing an historic One Million Patient Trial, conceived of by ISB founder Dr. Lee Hood, and managed from a medical point of view by Dr. Mary Kay Ross, as Principal Investigator. This landmark undertaking utilizes the Healing Brain Protocol across the breadth of dementia related diseases and will revolutionize our understanding of brain health and our clinical approach. It will not launch until early 2021, but preparations are already underway.

Smaller trials are in preparation, with 500 to 1,000 participants each. Both of these are centered around the uses of the BHRI Protocol and designed to flesh out specific strengths and weaknesses with regard to participant health status. Both are ISB and BHRI partnership trials, managed by ISB for 2020/2021.
